Hendee and Nelson MFR. Co. 1896 Sales Catalog. Both George Hendee and Nelson were noted American bicycle racers. Hendee and Nelson's bicycle manufacturing company went into receivership in 1897. Hendee purchased the firm and continued building bicycles; in 1901 he started manufacturing motorcycles and the American legend: Indian Motorcycle was born.
