Dr. Mark E. Williams is a former journalist and current medical professional. He took up photography to look at the human condition. His sensibility was drawn to the works of Cartier Bresson, Dorothea Lange, Robert Frank, Garry Winogrand, Tod Papageorge, and Barbara Kruger. What is particularly strong in his creative street view is the pairing of the photographic image with original titles, appellations that fortify the image. The word-image conveys a message: "I want you to see it THIS way". His visual encounters serve to depict the synesthetic disquieting state of the world, from wit, humor, and irony to ambiguity, anxiety, menace, at the breaking point.
