About the Book
In this extensively revised edition of Elements In Being, Robert Merrett explores twelve interconnected Elements that influence the way we experience ourselves, other people and the world around us.
Through Reflection, Attention, Dreaming, Connection, Attraction, Meaning, Intention, Gratitude, Loving Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage and Belief, the book invites us to look again at some of the most fundamental aspects of being human.
Drawing together insights from philosophy, psychology, spirituality and ordinary life, Merrett offers neither a rigid system nor another prescription for self-improvement. Instead, he encourages curiosity: to notice how we think, where we place our attention, what gives our lives meaning, what connects us, what holds us back and what might become possible when we begin to see ourselves differently.
At its heart lies a deceptively simple proposition: much of what we spend our lives searching for may already be available within the way we meet this moment.
Warm, thoughtful and accessible, Elements In Being can be read from beginning to end or returned to one Element at a time. Each offers a different doorway into greater awareness and aliveness, while together they form a larger picture of what it might mean to live more consciously and fully.
This Revised Edition expands and refines the original work, offering a clearer, richer invitation—not to construct a better self, but perhaps to uncover the life already waiting within.
