About the Book
In towns, villages and cities of all the countries, there’s always a development throughout the year, a diverse cultural events of great local root, of viable local and national reach. They Popular Celebrations, spaces that constitute the alive and immaterial patrimony of a country.
There’s no community that exist that does not spend at least a day of the calendar to celebrate ritualization, or to celebrate what it symbolizes a landmark in his existence. The man as social comunicator, is a festive being and celebration is an essentially instance of encounter and participation.
This book is a way to promote and the festivities. Also it is a way to offer information and sensibity in general.
These photographs permit us, to see in quantity, the forms to see us as latin-Americans, our multiple ways to interpret our identity. The celebrations that appear in here are, in this sense, an approach of a never-ending multiplicity of ways of creating and re-create cultural diversity.
We must look at popular festivals such as a support for local communities and so for all countries. The festivals enable a space of collective action where the people and the institutions acting together as a community, strengthening their ties through the cooperative work and with their eyes fixed on a common goal that benefits everyone equally.
