The images in this book were taken from June 2007 through October 2010, during which time I was re-discovering the joy of taking and making pictures, learning Photoshop, and reading photography and history books in search of an artistic direction that might resonate.



I make no claim that these images are the result of a coherent inner vision, or a desire to illustrate personal passions. None are intended to stand for something else, or make a social comment. As I look at them I can say that they show ordinary, stationary stuff (except for the cowering dog, which was moving when I took the picture). None of them work better for me in black and white, so maybe color has something to do with it.



Perhaps somewhere in here is a clue to a direction. I think what they are is what you see in them.



Please Note: the images shown here in the Blurb (full screen) preview show digital artifacting ("jaggies") that do not appear in the actual printed images in the book (which are an excellent match to their archival inkjet counterparts).
