Frank Wallace lives on the southern coast of Maine, a retired schoolmaster. In addition to SURFACES he published two other books in 2009: Raspberries and Children – A Celebration of Teaching (described by a senior editor at Scholastic Press as the most unique and inspiring book about education I've ever read. ) His other book, The Starlight Medallions is a children's adventure story set on the coast of Maine and behind the Northern Lights. His work been featured in galleries and is in a numbert of private collections around the country. The SURFACES collection began with his explorations of Maine's rocky coast and sandy beaches. His interest in old walls and other man-made surfaces began on a trip to San Miguel de Allende in Mexico and expanded as he travelled to other countries.
