Texture – The tactile and visual experience book is based on a university student, studying Design Craft on her second year degree course. The artist explores ways to depict the aesthetic and textural qualities of natural materials to create a body of work inspired by nature. Using ceramics as her main vehicle and using smoke firing and stoneware glazes she manipulates and interprets the many and varied forms of bark to make a variety of tactile and visually rich forms.
