About the Book
I am utterly an amateur when it comes to photography, but have become quite obsessed with it over the past few years. I had no real interest in family photography, wedding photography, or anything too contemporary. I was simply enthralled with capturing the natural elements around my home. I found I couldn't keep up with Alberta and her shiftiness. So many vistas and assorted light to ensnare. I desperately hope I did her justice.
The camera I used was a Canon Power Shot S2 IS. Yup, no D-SLR. I wish! I also played around with some of my photographs with Corel Paint Shop Pro. That was fun, but it's a very dangerous toy as it keeps me up too late at night. To those I know who are phenomenal and professional photographers, be easy on me.
As for the poem I wrote for this book, Alberta Light, it's again an amateur attempt to covey the soulful and organic spirit of Alberta, Canada. I've always been a big fan of poetry and of the assiduous, earnest lyrics of Canadian musicians.
Most important, I must pay tribute to my family and friends for having faith in me and prompting me to keep in sync with my true self. This book is dedicated to all of you.
