    About the Book

    Edit

Grey is a collection of poems by the author that were

all written whilst she lived in Aberdeen, also known

as the Granite City. Heavily influenced by Modernist writers such as T.S Eliot and James Joyce, Grey is not only a celebration of the macabre but also an incite into a life lived on the boundaries of social acceptability.

Grey traces the emotional journey through a struggle with alcoholism, self-abuse and promiscuity; a journey which spans six years of isolation and anxiety.

From the heart of a society that is struggling with the crippling effects of the Recession, Grey is set on a backdrop that is as cold and unforgiving as the content of the poems themselves.

I have previously worked as a proofreader and Grey is my first book, of which I hope to be the first of many.
