The 2012 summer Bridge Program was comprised of 25 recently graduated high school students from Tacoma Public Schools. The theme of the program was Breathing Stories 2 Life. Students worked independently on creating a memoir that deconstructed and described the critical moments of their high school experiences. Each student examined their journey to college while learning about the issues that so many youth in Tacoma face while attempting to become the first in their family to graduate from college.



In this book you will find a collection of diverse stories that will be used by the Upward Bound Program in the future to encourage, educate, and inspire high school students to pursue a post-secondary education.
