This story is about a girl named Emma. She is new to St. Dunstan elementary school and does not have many friends. Emma is mixed race of Korean and Irish. The central conflict is about her first parent teacher meeting. Her mother does not speak English well and Emma is worried it will be a problem at the meeting A boy in the class lies about the conference. The boy tells Emma’s that the conference is about her being in trouble and it adds to her anxiety.
