Assemblage - A private exhibition space.

For us, A Really Big Show, our first exhibition at Assemblage, marks the realization of a dream. Here, we have ample room to accommodate our passion for collecting and a venue where we can host personal and community arts events.

The 1828 N Street building was appealing to us for several reasons. We were attracted to the bow-truss architecture and the large, open space it offers for exhibiting almost any kind of art. We also liked its location on the Antelope Valley Parkway and that it has some outdoor space.

We spent considerable time mulling over a name for the exhibition space and asked a number of people for ideas. Our curator’s suggestion of Assemblage seemed to fit perfectly. The sculptural technique of joining diverse components to create an object of art parallels our intent to blend our friendship, collections and passion for art to create a venue people can enjoy.

We are indebted to our architects at Alley Poyner Macchietto, our construction supervisor, Larry Irvine, our staffs and the many others who have helped create this phenomenal space.
