    About the Book

    Edit

"A Few Weekends A Year" by Kime Cieszynski is a series of documentary portraits of music festival attendees who dress up in various fashions while at music festivals. Much like alter-egos, these subjects wear intense patterns, flowing fabrics and mystical props as a freedom of expression they feel the music allows them. Photographed within the bedrooms of the subjects, the images show the a vulnerability to the way they feel in their “festy” clothing in comparison to their everyday life. The photographs within the book vary greatly, from subjects who look shy and embarrassed by relating their two alternate lives with each other, to subjects who had a newfound confidence with the ability to truly relate to their bedroom. "A Few Weekends A Year" is a subtle, intimate look into today's counter-culture and the two lives they live within a year.
