Growing up I was always fascinated with fashion and beauty. The way different outfits and makeup can make a woman feel so confident and pretty. In these photographs I wanted to portray how makeup can change a woman’s appearance and how makeup can really change how women feel about themselves. But is there a limit to how much makeup a woman should wear? As I have gotten older I have realized that women do get judged if they wear what society thinks is too much makeup. It is apparent that some view makeup as a “fake mask” that women put on. How does one know what too much makeup is? What if the makeup a woman wears is considered too much by society but makes the woman wearing it feel good about herself? How does one judge what too much makeup is? To me, makeup should be about expressing yourself and making women feel good in their skin. It is my hope that these photos depict the confidence in these girls and spark interest in women and girls to experiment with makeup to see what makes them feel good about themselves.
