When I was younger the Owings Mills mall was a popular destination. As I got older the stores inside began to be close down. It was going to become a strip mall, but that plan failed. The emptiness of the space has lead me to notice less people and more of the architecture. Its useless space shows how much time has actually passed from then to now.

This series of photographs explores the architectural elements and emptiness of my neighborhood mall. I am photographing a mall as it is rarely seen. Inside the empty stores there is nothing but poles and darkness, while the patterns on the ceiling and railings add a lot of symmetry to the photographs.
