This is the age of swift transport, of high speed trains, jet engine aircraft and powerful cars. Yet, whilst considerable distances can be conveniently covered (and in splendid comfort) by these modes of transport, for a few individuals it is the mobility scooter that offers the greatest access and freedom to the world outside.



Unable to walk for lengthy periods of time, my friend Sam was kindly loaned the use of one such scooter during a visit to Dover Castle. Powered by a 12 volt battery with a 'twist-and-go' top speed of 4 m.p.h, the following photographic book documents the eventful day trip.
