About the Book
In the third week of April, 2015 we arrived in Geneva again. Spring was in full swing. What more could we have asked for? We started our four week travel plan with a purpose to explore and capture the lesser known towns from a small apartment situated in Naters Brig.
Travelling in Switzerland was very convenient with a Swiss Pass (which can be purchased from any railway station). This ticket enabled us to travel all trains, buses, boats, including local transport in all cities. Swiss Rail is indeed one of the best systems in the world.
Our day, after breakfast, used to start at 7.30 am and finish at 9 pm, as we were trying to cover as much as we could. Surprisingly, a month of travelling everyday never felt hectic, rather every day was full of peace, solitude and gratitude - a life time of enjoyment in the waiting. I hope my photos are able to do some justice in capturing the most charming and scenic hamlets and townships this country has been blessed with.
About the Creator
I was born and raised in Kashmir, India, where I was blessed to spend my childhood surrounded by spectacular mountains, valleys, meadows, flowers and lakes. After obtaining my Masters in Forestry I worked in New Delhi as a Scientist at TERI (Tata Energy Research Institute). I moved to Australia in 1992 and continued my career in the scientific field with the CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) where I currently still work as a Research Fellow, here in Canberra. I began to embrace photography when my family and friends gave me the opportunity to take photos at their weddings and other events. Consequently, I have now become a photographer. My passion for landscape photography has grown exponentially in the last 4 years. I love capturing sunsets, mountains, lakes, waterfalls, flowers, snow and the changing colors of the seasons. My love for photography continues to grow with every click. It is a journey with no end. I hope you will enjoy my photographs!
