About the Book
Chimera is a collaboration between two artists, one a photographer and the other a dancer and body builder. Through the precise use of lighting, exposure and careful framing, combined with the creative posing of the model, images emerge that are recognizable as a human form but are somehow foreign and mechanical. Combining the metallic surface with the softness and strength of a human body creates a visual dynamic that is both an abstract and a real portrayal of a woman. The anonymity, coldness of skin tone, along with the veiled face add to the dehumanization of the body. This creates a tension between it's softness and suppleness. contrasted with the angularity and warmth of the man made objects.

Davis has also been a guest lecturer at Webster University and Southern Illinois University. His fine art photography has been exhibited in prestigious galleries and museums throughout the US.
