About the Book
This memoir tells of how skills learned in the U.S Navy during WWII provided the background to start, develop and expand a successful career as a commercial diver, business owner and Professional Engineer. This was in a field that had, heretofore, relied on methods and equipment developed prior to WWI. These methods, equipment and procedures revolutionized commercial diving and allowed, among other fields, offshore petroleum in deeper water than ever before.
All of this followed ten years as an account executive, first in a Boston, then a New York advertising agency from which he was fired. This was followed by a period of job searching in that field until an opportunity to use skills learned in the Navy during WWII put him back in the water.
