About the Book
Through photography, storytelling, and personal surveys filled out by the street kids I've met in Seattle, I hope to dispel the stereotypes and prejudices towards youth living on the streets, giving them a real face and reminding all that every person has the same humanity and deserve to be treated as such.
The writings in this book are the thoughtful words of Skunk, Katie Redshoes, Phish, Lanya, Jordan, Xavier, Mike, Jake, Jordan Carter, "D", Turkey Wood, Bob, Kameron, Amy, and Snowman. You will be amazed by their stories and point of view.
Also included is a short photographic series called "LOOKING UP" by Katie Redshoes. I gave her one disposable camera and she rocked it!
I hope that you will spend the time to read "WE ARE HUMAN." I guarantee you will not regret it.
