About the Book
In the days following the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, towns within a 30km radius were evacuated leaving an abandoned area now known as the Exclusion Zone. The Exclusion Zone today is one of the most radioactively contaminated places on earth. It draws significant scientific interest for the high levels of radiation and the effects it has on the environment.
Photographer Paul-Matthew Zamsky ventured into one of the most desolated areas in the world 30 years after its evacuation, in an effort to capture the aftermath of one of 20th century's worst tragedies.
“Chernobyl: The Exclusion Zone" is a selection of digital and film photography from this project.
