About the Book
Due to the 8th Amendment, women in Ireland are effectively denied the right to choose what happens to their bodies once they become pregnant.
Approximately 3000 women travel overseas each year to obtain abortions.
Those women are considered criminals and could face up to 14 years in prison. Many of them have been forced to make these journeys as a result of circumstances beyond their control, such as rape or fatal fetal abnormality.
Unity of Choice tells the stories behind some of the women fighting for that right to choose. It also explains the decisions that others have made in support of them.
These are the people passionate enough to rally in support of choice
and who are seeking to repeal the 8th Amendment together.
These are the people united for choice.
