About the Book
These colorful and captivating close-ups of tiny creatures and plants were collected over the course of a New England summer. Some were photographed where they were discovered. About the Creator
Barbara Ann Tourgee, a New England resident, has been taking photographs since childhood when she adopted her grandmother's old box camera. Many years and several cameras later she is more entranced than ever by the play of sunlight across the many moods of nature. Although travel is no longer possible, she enjoys a rural lifestyle where she can catch the glint of early morning dew or the surprising delicacy of miniscule mushrooms. With an eye for detail, capturing the ever changing qualities of light is a dominant feature of her photographs. Barbara is also a watercolorist and occasional poet.
