About the Book
This project would not have been made possible without funding from Turning Technologies, an educational technology company in Youngstown, Ohio. We also owe our thanks to CEO of The Youngstown City Schools, Krish Mohip, whose high expectations for participation in the grant proposal development process was communicated through Christine Sawicki, Chief of Teaching and Learning, and brought to life by Administrator Maria Pappas who wrote the grant proposal with the full support of Principal Jennifer Walker and Deputy Chief of Transformation Kenya Mandledove-Sadler. We also want to acknowledge the dedicated and enthusiastic faculty and staff of Wilson and its Project Imagine Committee for their help, hard work and the joy that they all shared in bringing Author/Artist-in-Residence Dar James to Wilson PK-8 School.

About the Creator
Dar (Hosta) James
New Hope, PA
Dar is a painter of trees and circles, a writer and illustrator of children's picture books, a designer, a teacher of both children and adults, a speaker on creativity and education and a creativity coach. The books here on Blurb represent her work as a certified educator and visiting author and illustrator. During artist-in-residence programs, children work with her to write and illustrate collaborative picture books in the style of her books. They use alliteration and rhyme for the writing and the technique of collage for the illustrations. Information on her educational programs can be found at www.darsworld.com.
