Ann White grew up in Santa Fe, where she started drawing and painting at an early age. After graduating from Bennington College, she continued her art career in Mexico City and Caracas. She and her husband architect Charles Sink, settled in Denver in 1950. In the 1960’s she raised a family of three, producing paintings alongside. In the 1970s, with the kids grown, she returned to the working world, blooming with new art endeavors and anti-war activities.

Ann received her art education certification from Denver University and taught art in regional private and public schools. In the 1970s she ran the inspirational Scholastic Art Awards program. The program exhibits student work and awards the finalists a “Gold Key” and the opportunity to exhibit in NYC. Ann is active in volunteer work, particularly with the Denver Art Museum, where she was awarded the “Cile Bach Award” and the “ 50 Year Award“ for her invaluable hours of volunteer service. Ann is a member of the Alliance for Contemporary Art (AFCA ) and the Museum of Contemporary Art /Denver. She is a board member of the Colorado Coalition for the Prevention of Nuclear War and a member of the Hemlock Society.

Ann is one of the founding members of the artist group “The Nine” and a signature member of the Colorado Watercolor Society, both of which sponsor juried shows in which her work is exhibited. She is represented in many important private and corporate collections, and her work has received numerous awards.

Ann’s work was regularly shown in the popular Denver Art Museum “Own Your Own” shows of the late 1950’s and early1960’s. She has exhibited her work in the Rocky Mountain National Watercolor Show at the Foothills Gallery, as well as the annual Water Media Exhibit at the State Historical Society. Her work has also been shown in the Woman’s Bank, Denver Botanic Gardens, Jewish Community Center, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, the Boettcher Concert Hall, and the Gil
