Artist Statement: I am passionate about politics, protest, and people expressing their voice. Going into this project my goal was simply to show various forms of protest in America and different ways people express them. As I was going to these different protests, I began to realize that documenting the voices and causes of the people I was photographing became just as important as showing the idea of protest in this country. I wanted to show the voices of these people, the passion for their causes, and the way they were doing it.
