A memoir about growing up in Danzig, and becoming one of the 10,000 children who were evacuated to England to escape Nazi Germany prior to World War II. The book follows the author's life as she lives in different foster homes in England and Wales and eventually makes her way to the United States after the war to be reconnected with family members in California, marries and continues an adventurous life.
